Methanol Spray Optic Cleaning Procedure

Document #:
LIGO-T1100286-v2
Document type:
T - Technical notes
Other Versions:
Abstract:
This procedure was developed at LHO with Betsy Bland and Lisa Barsotti as an alternative to drag wiping optics that have large particulates on them. Spraying down the optics with methanol washes off the particulates without dragging them around. Reference the General Optics cleaning Procedure to see which optics need to be cleaned this way.
Ion gun note:
Replace ion gun filters every 3 months.
Do not exceed 30psi going to a terra universal ion gun, it will damage the filter.
