- Material Qualification RGA Test Results for Epoxy Pax EP-1730-1 potting compound. This potting compound is used in some of the connectors used in aLIGO. The material samples consists of 3 castings each ~0.125" thick. Two of the samples are 3 in wide by 12 in long. The third sample is 3 in wide by 8 in long. 64 syringes, each with 3 cc of potting compound was used to make these samples. The material was vacuum baked at 200C for 48 hrs. Bob Taylor notes that the surface of the material changed its appearance -- it looks "crystalline" after the vacuum bake.
