Abstract:

As part of LIGO-SURF 2017, the project to characterize optical scattering from the test masses was undertaken. Major activities include installation and configuration of GigE cameras, writing and interfacing with codes to communicate with the camera, setting up code for the purpose of image processing, calibration of the camera for BRDF measurements and identification of point scatterers on the mirror surface.
