Abstract:

The TCS CO2P viewport assembly (D1101627-v4) has a pair of double-windows; One pair is fused silica for a visible light camera for alignments, and the other pair is ZnSe for the CO2 laser beam. The outer window of each pair serves as a protective measure. An IR sensor assembly (D1201528) monitors stray infrared emission "caused by sudden large scattering sources on the viewports" from the outer ZnSe window. The purpose of this document is to define a damge threshold for the ZnSe windows and a safe trigger level for the IR sensor.
