Abstract:

The purpose of this document is to describe the optimum and actual or achievable heating beam profiles to be used in Advanced LIGO. The goal is to actuate on the aLIGO ITM and CP with the Ring Heater and CO2 laser respectively to achieve less than 0.1% round trip scatter from the TEM00 mode in the recycling cavity.
