Abstract:

SISO, top-mass damping loops for the aLIGO suspenions are analyzed with respect to their effect on the optic motion, including the impact of sensor noise, actuator noise (from all stages), and residual seismic noise. How the performance estimate is obtained, the model used, suggested requirements, and sensitivity to model inaccuracy are described in some detail. Further, filters that meet the suggested requirements, with the philosophy behind there design are also provided.
