LIGO Document G2401768-v3
- Upgrading and improving the sensitivity of the ground-based gravitational wave detector network is a continuing technological challenge: in this talk I report on progress and the current state of observations in the 4th Advanced era observing run. Starting in May 2023, and with the highest LIGO sensitivity so far seen and with Virgo contributing since earlier this year, the run has recently been extended to continue until June 2025.
I will review the low latency candidates identified during the run and the first published science results, as well as plans for upcoming catalog publications, and for further upgrades ahead of the subsequent observing runs.
