LIGO Document G1500170-v2
- This is a presentation for 31st Pacific Coast Gravity Meeting (PCGM) at University of Oregon, Eugene, OR.
In the past year, the advanced LIGO (aLIGO) project made a significant amount of progress. Both of the interferometers successfully achieved full resonance and demonstrated stable operation for more than two hours. The project is now preparing for observation runs by reducing noise and improving the duty cycle. In this talk, I will review the concept of advanced LIGO and present some of the experimental highlights from the past year. Finally I will briefly review the prospects for the coming years.
- v2- fixed some typos and quoted some more papers/persons as suggested by P&P committee.
