Abstract:

In the next few years, the advanced LIGO and Virgo detectors will be operational, and hopefully detecting coalescences of compact objects such as neutron stars and black holes. The talk with review the science, the observational prospects, tools being prototyped, and ask for feedback from prospective observers.
