Abstract:

Talk at the GWADW workshop, Hawaii 2012 in the `Mitigating thermal noise' session. The talk gives a brief introuction to Laguerre-Gauss modes and the past research. It reports preliminary results of our experimental work at the Glasgow 10m prototype and with high-power lasers in Hannover.
