- This talk is an overview of the current status of low-latency transient searches (as of mid-S6), with a focus on "burst" searches, and the Omega low-latency analysis in particular. Motivation for why low-latency searches are important is discussed, followed by a description of what is currently being pursued. The talk concludes with some points on how to proceed in the Advanced LIGO era.
