Watchdog Meeting Notes Friday Aug 23rd S. Biscans, F. Matichard, J. Kissel There are two parallel efforts (1) Improve usability (screen straight-forwardness) (2) Reduce complexity and number of things that we trigger on - In QUADs -- we should change SUS watchdog to trip on both chains (change OR to AND) - IOP watchdog is tripped because ISI is tripped suddenly, which adds a spike to the OSEMs ringing up the RMS, which trips the IOP. - instead of tripping the ISI on a SUS trip, ramp down instead. Much less violent. - Make HPI WD screen no longer a secret screen (has already been done for ISIs) - We can just totally remove actuator trip trigger on SUS - merge ERRMON WD screen with Main WD screen for ISIs - merge all SUS WD screens (USER, USER DACKILL, IOP) - Currently IOP DACKILL link opens the site-wide IOP DAC KILL screen, where you have to know the chamber name to find what has tripped. BOO. - Merge *all* watchdog screens. Period. Should have a screen that looks like Jeff's diagram for each chamber. FOR THE HAMS: If the top of any of the suspensions trips, that cascades to the IOP, which because of poor I/O chassis overlap (HAM23 vs. HAM34, etc.), takes down the entire HAM corner station. e.g. MC1 M1 (TOP) WD trips in HAM2. This cascades (via the same flow as in the diagram) to the SEI HAM23 IOP WD. This trips HAM3 HPI and ISI. Tripping HAM3 HPI and ISI is violent, so it trips MC2 M1 WD. MC2's M1 WD cascades to SUS HAM34 IOP WD for SUS, which trips SR2's M1 WD. This cascades to SEI HAM45 killing HAM5's ISI and HPI. This trips SRM's WD, which cascades to SUS HAM 56, which kills the OMC, which kills SEI HAM16. And the whole damn corner station is dead. FUCK. - NEED to somehow make IOP WD ONLY trip one chamber, not all chambers. Switch to ALWAYS ramping down on an ISI or HPI WD trip. No more sudden loss of Isolation / alignment offsets. This prevents most of the chamber-to-chamber cascade...
